Brigitte Gabrielle grew up during the 1970's, highly sectarian, civil war in Lebanon . A Christian raised to hate Jews, her experiences with the Israelis during the 1982 invasion of Lebanon , won her respect and admiration for them. She soon moved to Jerusalem and became anchor for "World News," an evening Arabic news broadcast for Middle East Television seen throughout Israel , Egypt , Syria , Jordan and Lebanon . She covered the Israeli withdrawal from central Lebanon , the Israeli Security Zone and the Palestinian uprising in the West Bank . Brigitte lived in Israel from 1984 to 1989 and has since relocated to the Unites States.
